Phlexx Records Mentoring Scheme 2021
Funded by Youth Music, the Phlexx Records mentoring scheme, offers paid positions to 8 young, hungry creatives aged 18-25 year olds in Nottingham….
Phlexx Records has been around for a while, in fact, in October 2021 it will be our 8th birthday. Started out by Trekkah and Bru-C as a way to put on shows for their group The Afterdark Movement, the label has danced its way through the years from multi-stage events at the Maze to sweaty Bassline raves at Bar 11. From DJ sets for Mimm Radio to Poetry Slams at Suede Bar for Nottingham Poetry Festival. They have hosted Phlexxibitons at Pete Spowages gallery and curated festival stages with Leftlion at Hockley Hustle. With over 50 releases going out on their label, with national and international sync plays, radio plays and features on television channels and film.
Phlexx love the City of Nottingham and really love to to elevate and support the Nottingham creative scene, whether that is by artist management, music releases, events organisation, exhibitions, radio shows and poetry events.
We are delighted to partner with Phlexx Records on their 2021 Mentoring scheme. Funded by Youth Music (Youth Music Incubator), they have awarded 8 places for 18-25 years old to join the label in a paid position. Forming a diverse mentoring collective of young creatives that will be working with them throughout 2021. During this time the collective will learn about and take on specific roles from within the label, they will take part in a series of workshops from industry professional and they get a budget to realise their own project that will explore their own creative work and look at how they can develop their work for further employment within the music industry.
